Investigators Recover Stolen Property

On November 5, 2022, a burglary took place on Corinth-Poseyville Road and thousands of dollars of property were stolen. Investigators were able to track some of the property to the location where it was being stored. A search warrant was served at that home and Investigators were able to recover most of the stolen property. Jammie Hodges was arrested for Burglary in the first degree and was booked into the Haralson County Jail.

On Thursday, November 3, 2022, Sgt. Terry McAdams observed a male acting erratically walking on US Highway 78 close to Defnall Road. The male, identified as William Edwards Hicks, a 45-year-old W/M from Anniston AL, was unable to stand still while speaking to Sgt. McAdams. Sgt. McAdams ran Hicks through GCIC and was advised that Hicks had a warrant out of Calhoun County Alabama. During this time, Hicks became irritated and dumped out his backpack to get his cigarettes and a bag of suspected methamphetamines fell out on the road. William Hicks was taken into custody and charged with VGCSA (Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act – Possession of Methamphetamine).

High Speed Chase in Haralson County

On Sunday, August 21, 2022, Haralson County deputies were advised of a high-speed chase coming out of Cleburne County AL. Deputies were advised that a Maroon Honda CR-V was eastbound on I-20, driving at dangerous speeds and was wanted for multiple traffic offenses.
Just west of exit 9, Sgt. Taylor joined the pursuit and observed the vehicle driving recklessly and the driver refusing to pull over. Sgt. Taylor performed a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) and ended the chase safely at exit 11. Carey Williams, 39 years old, out of Savannah, GA was taken into custody for multiple traffic offenses.

Investigation Continues After a Stolen ATV was Recovered

On July 13, 2022, a 2020 Honda Talon was stolen from a residence on Seabreeze Lake Road in Buchanan. Deputies and investigators followed leads in this case and on Monday, July 25, 2022, a deputy uncovered a possible location of the ATV and contacted Investigators. Inv. Jason Bowman along with Inv. Heath Williams responded to the area of Zion Hill Church Road in Haralson County where they located and recovered the stolen Honda Talon. The stolen ATV was returned to the owner. This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no other information can be released at this time.
