Haralson County Middle School has been designated as a National Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School. This is the highest honor given by Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE). The school received the news earlier today after successfully completing a rigorous evaluation process by the national organization. According to the BRSE’s website, only 21 schools throughout the country were named as Lighthouse Schools in 2021.
HCMS successfully met the criteria for all nine categories in the Blueprint for Excellence assessment process. These categories are:
• Student Focus and Support
• School Organization and Culture
• Challenging Standards and Curriculum
• Active Teaching and Learning
• Technology Integration
• Professional Community
• Leadership and Educational Vitality
• School, Community, and Family Partnerships
• Indicators of Success
HCMS Principal, Jodi Cash said, “We are beyond thrilled to receive this designation. The entire faculty at HCMS places a high value on student achievement, school climate, professional development, and fostering strong partnerships within the community that we serve. We believe that achieving this prestigious honor is a direct reflection of our continuous dedication to excellence demonstrated day-in and day-out by everyone at HCMS – especially our students.”
