Haralson County High School Student is selected for the Governor’s Honors Program
(April 6, 2021, Tallapoosa, Georgia). Layla Wallace, Haralson County Junior, will be participating in the Governor’s Honors Program this summer. Layla qualified in the area of Agriculture Research, Biotechnology, and Science. Layla qualified for Governor’s Honors last year, but due to restrictions, the summer program was put on hold. She will join the summer program this year.
The Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the program. The program offers instruction that is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders. This year the program will be held at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
Over 3,000 students were nominated to the state level competition and nearly 1,300 of them participated in this year’s state interview/audition process. It is a tremendous honor and accomplishment to be selected to attend GHP.
Congratulations to Layla and all of the finalists! Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed!
