Multiple drug arrests by Haralson Paulding Drug Task Force.
On Sunday, June 6, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the area of Allgood Church Road and Coppermine Road in reference to suspicious persons. Several deputies were already in the area looking for a wanted person and they responded. Arriving deputies observed a male, later identified as Ronald Hayes drop a baggie of suspected methamphetamine and went to speak to him. During their investigation, Hayes was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a schedule IV drug. Deputies went to a nearby house to conduct a knock and talk in reference to the wanted person. When they were let into the home, there were drugs laying out in plain sight so they contacted the Haralson Paulding Drug Task Force. From that investigation, Robert Joseph Thompson was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and Charles Robert Morris was arrested for Maintaining a Disorderly House, his second arrest for that charge this year. “These houses that are used for drug dealing and drug use are a source for many overdoses this year and they are a major problem in this county. We will continue to investigate and make arrests not only of the ones dealing drugs but also the ones allowing their homes to be used for these things.”, says Sheriff Stacy Williams.
