Illegal Firearms Confiscated and Arrests made

HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. – On Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, Deputy Michael Manson, part of our Crime Suppression Operational Interstate Task Force, was on I-20 working traffic enforcement when he observed a White Dodge Charger with illegally tinted windows.

Deputy Manson initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and when he approached the vehicle, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Deputy Manson asked the driver for his driver’s license, and he stated that he did not have one.

Deputy Manson was backed up by Deputy Chad Sheriff and asked the individuals to step out of the vehicle.

The deputies observed one of the passengers moving things around in the vehicle when they were trying to get the males out.

During the probable cause search of the vehicle, six firearms were located, three of them with illegal switches or MCD’s (Machine Conversion Device).

When the serial numbers for the firearms were run through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC), one of the guns came back as stolen out of Tennessee.

The four males were arrested and taken to the Haralson County Detention Center.
