Detention officer pleads guilty to Violation of Oath of Office and Theft by Taking

PRESS RELEASE – On Thursday, February 6, 2025, former Haralson County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officer Jada Lee Pike pled guilty to Violation of Oath of Office and Theft by Taking in the Superior Court of Haralson County, GA. The plea deal reached by Pike’s attorney and the District Attorney’s Office was for ten years’ probation and restitution of $11,295.00 to be paid on the date she pled.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in 2021 after Sheriff Stacy Williams took office and had a thorough audit conducted on all Sheriff’s Office accounts. Chief Deputy Jamison Sailors began to investigate when discrepancies were discovered during the audit in the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office inmate account. The investigation clearly showed that Pike embezzled over $11,000 from the inmate account during a two-year period before Sheriff Williams took office. In December of 2023, a Grand Jury indicted Pike on the charges and she turned herself in.

“I appreciate the effort of Chief Sailors and the Haralson County District Attorney’s Office in getting justice as well as restitution in this case,” states Sheriff Stacy Williams. “We must hold ourselves accountable, that is an integral part of having our citizen’s trust. We have implemented a system of checks and balances to ensure that nothing like this happens in the future.”
