Shooting in Haralson County results in one victim in the hospital

HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. – On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 6:51 AM, deputies were dispatched to a shooting already occurred where the victim was currently at Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, GA. Deputies contacted Investigator Bobby Mullenix who went to Tanner at Higgins and met with the victim, who had one gunshot to the top of his left foot.

After leaving the hospital, Sgt. Mullenix went to the scene on Little Circle Road to conduct the investigation and process the scene there. The investigation shows that there was an argument between the victim and his sister’s boyfriend, William Hodges, around 3:00 AM and she separated them and told them to leave.

Sometime after 5:00 AM, the victim went back to the house to retrieve something from a vehicle. The victim and Hodges got into a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation and during the fight, Hodges took out a pistol and shot the victim in the foot.

William Lee Hodges, a 40-year-old W/M out of Tallapoosa, is now facing charges that include Aggravated Assault. Sgt. Mullenix spoke to Hodges, who agreed to turn himself in around 3:00 PM today. As of 4:30 PM, Hodges has not turned himself in and is now wanted. William Lee Hodges is 5’11, 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
