PRESS RELEASE – On Friday, January 24, 2025, Sgt. Sam Swanger with the Haralson County Crime Suppression Unit was on concentrated patrol when he observed a silver Chevrolet Impala crossing Highway 27 from Hayes-Glass Road with an equipment violation.
Sgt. Swanger initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Robert McCutcheon.
During the investigation of the traffic stop, McCutcheon gave Sgt. Swanger consent to search the vehicle.
The driver was detained, and Sgt. Swanger, Sgt. McAdams, and Cpl. Jarrett Chandler conducted the search of the vehicle.
While searching the trunk of the vehicle, Cpl. Jarrett Chandler observed a yellow Triscuit box in which contained four knotted baggies of a white, clear substance.
The knotted baggies totaled 4 ounces of suspected methamphetamine.
Robert Shaun McCutcheon, a 54-year-old W/M out of Bremen, GA, was arrested and charged with VGCSA Trafficking. The case has been turned over to the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force.
