Man Pleads Guilty on Aggravated Assault Case

PRESS RELEASE – On July 9th, 2024, in the Superior Court of Haralson County, Georgia, Donald Allen, a 61-year-old B/M out of Bremen, GA pleaded guilty to the charge of Aggravated Assault.

As part of the negotiated plea agreement, Allen has been sentenced to 10 years with the first 2 years to be served in confinement. All other charges were not prosecuted.

This case began on Saturday, March 16, 2023, at 11:26 PM, when deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Old Moore’s Mill Road in reference to a Burglary in Progress.

Dispatch advised that the complainant was in a physical altercation with the offender, so the Bremen Police Department was requested to respond due the exigent circumstances.

When the first deputy arrived on scene, the complainant was in the yard with one Bremen officer and another Bremen officer was entering the house attempting to make contact with the offender, who was in a back bedroom.

The deputy and the Bremen officer were able to get the offender to come out of the room and he was placed into custody.

During the investigation on scene, it was found that the offender, Donald Allen had attempted to come into the residence, but the back and front doors were locked so he broke a window on the house.

When he could not make entry through the broken window, he went back to the front door and kicked it in. Allen entered the house and assaulted the homeowner with a baseball bat causing injuries to his face.

A witness on scene was not injured but did have a panic attack and was transported to the hospital. The offender was advised of his Miranda Rights on scene and agreed to talk to deputies.

Allen admitted that he broke down the door and hit the victim with a baseball bat.

Donald Allen, a 61-year-old B/M out of Bremen, GA was arrested and has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd degree. A follow up investigation revealed that Allen resided at the residence, so the Burglary charge was not prosecuted.
