Haralson man pleas guilty and is sentenced to 15 years

PRESS RELEASE – On July 9th, 2024, in the Superior Court of Haralson County, Georgia, Vincent Bradley Phillips, a 54-year-old W/M out of Waco, GA pleaded guilty to the charges of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and No Proof of Insurance.
As part of the negotiated plea agreement, Phillips has been sentenced to 15 years, he will be sent to the Georgia Department of Corrections RSAT (Residential Substance Abuse Treatment) program before he is released on probation.
This case began on January 3, 2023, when Sgt. McAdams pulled over a vehicle for no insurance. At the traffic stop Mr. Phillips admitted to not having insurance on the vehicle and was told the vehicle would have to be impounded.
During the traffic stop investigation, Mr. Phillips was found to have Methamphetamine in his pocket as well as possession of two handguns at the time.
On June 27, 2024, Vincent Bradley Phillips was in court to plea on this case but left the courthouse before his case was presented resulting in a bench warrant being issued.
Two days later, Cpl. Alexander Zeno observed a white passenger car believed to be occupied by Phillips on Highway 100. Cpl. Zeno went to run the tag, but the car turned abruptly and went into the Dollar General Parking lot.
When the male exited the vehicle, Cpl. Zeno was able to positively ID him as the Phillips, who was wanted on a Felony Failure to Appear. Cpl. Zeno had Phillips come to his vehicle and took him into custody.
