PRESS RELEASE – On May 3, 2023, at 3:00 AM, Deputies went to conduct extra patrol at the Haralson County Landfill on Landfill Road. Deputies located a person at the landfill who stated that he knew he was not supposed to be there and that he had already been trespassed. The male was placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass and when he was searched incident to arrest, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine was found on his person.
Once the individual got the the Haralson County Detention Center, he admitted that he had given a false name to Deputy J. Henderson. Stephen Randall Wilson, a 44 year old W/M out of Tallapoosa, GA was charged with VGCSA – Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Giving False Name and Criminal Trespass.
“There have been multiple complaints about trespassing and thefts at the landfill, this creates problems throughout the entire community and we take that very seriously,” states Sheriff Williams. “Deputies will continue to extra patrol the landfill and surrounding areas as we work to make it safer and more secure for the citizens in that community.”
